Stormwater Drainage and Street Upgrade, Ward 4

Stormwater drainage and street upgrade works in Ward 4, delivered through Vijay Ori and Associates cc under KwaDukuza Municipality’s three year panel contract for stormwater improvement. The works formalised stormwater conveyance through a new reinforced trapezoidal drain, arrested erosion along the channel bank, upgraded the concrete road surface and provided a kerbed gravel sidewalk that improved safe pedestrian access for the surrounding community.

Scope of Works

• Excavation and construction of a trapezoidal drain
• Excavation and construction of gravel sidewalk with kerbing
• Erosion protection of the channel bank against stormwater
• Concrete road upgrade

Outcome

Inspected and certified complete on 13 December 2023 in terms of GCC 2015 (Clause 5.14.4), delivered within the tendered amount with no extension of time and all snag items closed out to the Engineer’s satisfaction.
